History
MaintControl was established in 2000 with the goal of developing a software tool for preparing, managing and optimising maintenance concepts. The new company got off to a great start thanks to input from several founders who stood to benefit greatly from such a tool. One of these founders was Baas & Roost Maintenance, the predecessor to the company presently known as MaxGrip. Baas & Roost contributed a great deal of knowledge and expertise on the process of preparing maintenance concepts.
Soon after, the first version of Optimizer+ was ready for use. This first rough version satisfied the original wishes of the founders. However, the original user group soon made it clear that they had all kinds of additional wishes, and the rapid growth of the client and user base that followed only strengthened this trend. The development capacity available to MaintControl was soon expanded, thereby creating the opportunity for further developing Optimizer+. But the core functionality remained the same: the preparation, management and optimisation of maintenance concepts.
In 2007, MaintControl was acquired by MaxGrip, due to the strategic fit between Optimizer+ and the services provided by MaxGrip. The existing core functionality remained essential to the entire package. However, over the coming years, Optimizer+ will be expanded in a modular fashion. The most important maintenance engineering sub-processes will be added in the form of separate modules which can function on a standalone basis but can also be used in an integrated fashion. The aim is to insure that Optimizer+ continues to develop further and retains its primary value as the basic tool of every maintenance engineer.
