Simulation / optimisation
With the simulation module in Optimizer+, the user can carry out calculations on various models of a (sub) system to determine cost and uptime. By generating simulation scenarios, it is possible to view and compare the results of the maintenance concepts being modelled.
The calculations on a model are carried out with the help of a statistical simulation technique known as the "Monte Carlo Method." This makes it possible to obtain practical insight into the effects of the specific strategy chosen.
The figure above shows an example in which two different maintenance scenarios are compared and reported upon on the basis of maintenance activities, duration of maintenance, and maintenance costs. In addition to these reports, reports are also available specifying the cost per year per maintenance strategy, downtime per year, and Top 10 overviews.
